Director of Quebec Affairs

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client in the music industry is recruiting for a Director of Quebec Affairs. This position Reports to and works closely with the CMO. The Director of Quebec Affairs is the representative in Quebec and fosters effective and positive communications and exchanges with the entire Quebec music ecosystem. With their credibility, experience, and proactivity, they will be called upon on a daily basis to collaborate with Quebec-based members, their representative associations and government authorities. They will strengthen the organization's understanding of the issues related to the specific situation in Quebec and will promote the commitment and membership of the organization. They will also work in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team to develop the communications strategy. This person will have a constant presence in the ecosystem and will be the spokesperson at numerous Quebec and international events, such as panels, community meetings, media relations, government, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In collaboration with the CMO, represent the organization in Quebec
  • Be proactive, map out who is who, determine priorities and have an impact
  • Foster strong and harmonious relationships with our Quebec-based members as well as with the various players in the Quebec music ecosystem, including government authorities
  • Listen and communicate on a regular basis with members and stakeholders of the Quebec music industry and ensure the organizations presence at conferences, panels, events, industry meetings, media relations, etc.
  • Participates in the development of the communications strategy in Quebec and play a major role in its implementation
  • Strengthen the company's understanding of business issues related to the Quebec market.
  • Participate in relevant team meetings
  • Ensure commercial monitoring of issues in Quebec
  • Ensure an artistic monitoring in Quebec (who’s who)
  • Support the Creative team based in Montreal and ensure that they are well complemented
  • Conduct any other tasks assigned by the CMO

Requirements

  • Undergraduate (bachelors) degree in law, administration, communications, or any other relevant discipline
  • Minfimum of 5 years experience in business development, communications or governmental affairs, preferred
  • Experience in a non-profit and business environment
  • Good understanding of cultural ecosystems and their stakes
  • Deep knowledge of the Quebec music sector
  • Passionate about culture and the recognition of its social value
  • Knowledgeable of governance and governmental affairs is considered a plus
